Peconic Recycling and Transfer in Cutchogue, New York, has installed vibratory equipment from General Kinematics, Crystal Lake, Illinois, for its new construction and demolition (C&D) debris and municipal solid waste (MSW) system. This facility has been in the works for nearly eight years, and according to local reports, cost $8 million. The services include waste collection, commercial services and recycling.
According to GK, at the heart of this sorting system are GK’s SXS screen and the De-stoner.
This SXS screen comes from more than 20 years of research and creates double the stroke with the same low horsepower requirements like other GK Finger-Screen equipment. In addition, it can be customized to fit widths and separation requirements, the company adds.
Along with the De-stoner, the equipment allows Peconic Recycling to run both C&D debris and MSW in the same system. The company is now are able to sort and recycle roughly 220 tons of C&D debris and MSW each day that previously went to landfill.
