PCA sold its Nashville paper recycling operation to a privately owned company called Rivergate Recycling. Rivergate is a division of QRS Inc., which is based in New Albany, Indiana. The company is a regionally owned recycling company.
The acquisition, late last month, brings to five the number of facilities operaed under the QRS umbrella.
The Nashville facility will bring to two the number of paper stock operations in the city. In addition to the headquarters facility in Indiana, the company also operates two facilities in the St. Louis area.
The former PCA plant has been renamed Rivergate Recycling 2.
Matt Janson, president of the company, said the facility handles more than 10,000 tons of recyclables a month, primarily paper.
Rivergate provides services for the Metro Nashville recycling program, including the city’s CURBY recycling center.
