The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports that Parma Heights shows the second-greatest increase in recycling participation in Cuyahoga County, according to a report of 2015 residential recycling percentages.
Parma Heights holds special drop-off events throughout the year for residents at the service garage in Greenbrier Commons, the article says.
“More and more residents are coming to safely shred personal documents and to dispose of hazardous household materials,” Michelle Teresi, recycling coordinator, told the Plain Dealer.
The county Solid Waste District also has launched a new website to inform residents on community recycling, the article says.
“I thank every resident who puts forth the effort to recycle,” Mayor Michael P. Byrne says in the article. “By participating in these programs, we help the economy by creating jobs for citizens in recycling industries, but more importantly, we are together improving and preserving the environment for future generations.”
