PARC Corp., Romeoville, Illinois, recently opened its newest plastics processing facility in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. The company says its new facility, which will serve manufacturers and consumers throughout the northern Midwest, will allow it to expand its flexible packaging and thermoforming plastics operations.
The new facility measures roughly 136,000 square feet and will handle a range of postindustrial grades of plastic scrap, including PET (polyethylene terephthalate), polyethylene and low-density polyethylene film.
PARC’s operations focus on baling collected plastics and shipping them to its headquarters in China, where the material is converted into new products. However, the company is working on technology that will allow it to convert the material into raw material that it can sell to domestic plastic packaging producers in the U.S.
The company says its new location is fully equipped to promote and execute a zero-landfill policy for manufacturers and suppliers that require a spot trailer and especially for companies that have an on-site compactor or Dumpster.
PARC Corp. says its new facility is near to almost dozen manufacturing plants that are producing the plastic scrap.
A spokesman for PARC USA says the company also is looking to open several more facilities later this year. The locations of the proposed plants include Memphis, Tennessee; Louisville, Kentucky; and locations in Virginia and South Carolina.
