Paprec Recycling, an independent paper recycling company with more than 50 locations throughout France, has acquired the Lottner Group, which provides paper recycling and document destruction services in Switzerland. This is Paprec’s first foreign acquisition.
Lottner was founded more than 100 years ago in Switzerland. Lottner Group is the second largest paper recycling company in that country, according to Paprec. In addition to paper recycling, Lottner Group also performs some scrap metal recycling and provides document destruction services.
Last year, Lottner, which operates facilities in Basel, Zurich and Lucerne, processed more than 150,000 metric tons of recovered fiber.
Paprec says it plans to continue Lottner’s existing business with customers in Switzerland while growing the company’s confidential shredding business.
“This agreement helps to perpetuate the Lottner group,” says Peter Lottner of the Lottner Group. "Joining one of Europe's leading recycling companies allows the group to grow at an accelerated pace in Europe.”
