The Paper and Packaging Board (P+PB) is seeking nominations of people to serve on its board of directors starting in 2024.
The P+PB, based in McLean, Virginia, has three open board seats in the following regions: one from the South, one from the rest of the United States and one importer seat. Each seat is a three-year term beginning Jan. 1, 2024.
The association says its board is seeking “three seasoned executives who can bring deep industry knowledge to the board’s deliberations and represent a range [of] product sectors including containerboard, paperboard, kraft, and [the] printing and writing and office paper sectors.”
The P+PB also says it “encourages the nomination of diverse candidates including women, minorities, ethnicities and cultures who can bring different perspectives and ideas to the board’s deliberations and discussions.”
Nominations are being accepted from April 1 through May 15 and must be submitted to the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). The Secretary of Agriculture is scheduled to appoint new board members by the end of the year.
The P+PB promotes the use of paper products and paper-based packaging by highlighting how its “sustainable nature, the industry’s practices and recycling help contribute to a healthier planet.” More than 45 U.S. manufacturers and importers collectively fund the national marketing campaign hosted here.
Those seeking a nomination form or additional information can contact Samantha Mareno of the USDA at samantha.mareno@usda.gov.
