The current state of recovered fiber quality will be the focus of a panel discussion at the 2018 Paper & Plastics Recycling Conference Europe event, which takes place Nov. 6-7 in Prague.
At a session titled Let’s Talk About Quality, which takes place Tuesday, Nov. 6, from 4:15 to 5:30 p.m., the panel consisting of mill buyers and recovered fiber shippers will engage in what is likely to be a spirited discussion about the state of Europe’s recovered fiber quality, including trends in quality measurement and monitoring.
The panel discussion, to be moderated by Bill Moore of United States-based consulting firm Moore & Associates, features participants from four of Europe’s largest recycling firms and paper makers: Peter Seggie of Smurfit Kappa Group; Katrijn van Reit of Suez Environnement; Francisco Donoso of the Alba Group; and Andreas Walser of Hamburger Recycling Group.
Previous versions of the Paper & Plastics Recycling Conference Europe, which has been held annually since 2005, have frequently featured sessions designed to focus on a broader set of topics that evolved into dialogues on fiber quality.
This year, the event’s organizers, the Recycling Today Media Group, decided to give the topic of scrap paper quality, its own slice of the schedule, considering global trade conditions have increased the overall scrutiny of recovered fiber quality.
