The executive directors of two state recycling associations—the Illinois Recycling Association and the Associated Recyclers of Wisconsin (AROW)—will each serve as moderators at the 2010 Paper Recycling Conference. The annual event, organized by the Recycling Today Media Group, takes place June 13-15 at the Marriott Downtown Chicago.
Toral Jah, executive director of AROW, will moderate a session titled “Meeting Municipal Expectations” on June 14. The session is being designed to offer a look at how recyclers and municipalities can best communicate when recycling program differences arise.
Presenters at the session include Daniel Lantz of Toronto-based Metro Waste Paper Recovery and William Kappel, public utilities director of the city of Wauwatosa, Wis.
Mike Mitchell, executive director of the Oak Park, Ill.-based Illinois Recycling Association, will moderate a Tuesday, June 15 session titled “Beyond Single-Family Structures.” The session, part of the conference’s Collection & Municipal Markets track, will include presentations portraying collection efforts at multi-family structures, public places, retail settings, special events and institutional campuses.
Speakers at the session include Sam Miller, vice president of Fitzgerald, Ga.-based Enviro-Log Inc., a company that recycles wax-coated cardboard collected from grocers and other retailers.
