Mumbai to host 2017 Paper Recycling Conference India

The Recycling Today Media Group, Valley View, Ohio, and Media Fusion LLC, Dubai, United Arab Emirates, have announced the dates and venue for the 2017 Paper Recycling Conference India event.

The second edition of the event will take place 6-7 February 2017 at the Hotel Leela in Mumbai, near the city’s international airport.

The event’s organisers say the paper industry on the Indian subcontinent is rapidly developing and offers above-average growth potential. To capitalise on this increased interest, the Recycling Today Media Group and Media Fusion are presenting a conference designed to “target all facets of the Indian paper and paper recycling industry,” the two organisations say.

Conference organisers are urging attendees to consider the following factors when deciding if to attend:

• the estimated consumption of paper in India is projected to reach 13.95 million short tons in 2016;
• annual recovered paper requirements are projected to increase from 8 million short tons currently to 16 million short tons by 2025;
• Indian newsprint demand is projected to grow by 9% per annum; and
• India’s population of nearly 1.3 billion is around 15% of the global population. As income and education rise in the world’s most populous democracy, the consumption of paper is likely to increase significantly.
