Illinois Recycler Wins Paper Recycling Conference Sweepstakes

The Recycling Today Media Group has announced that Environmental Recycling & Disposal’s Dale Ipema has won the February drawing for its 2010 Paper Recycling Conference Sweepstakes. His entry was randomly selected among all registrants on March 1. Ipema’s official title is treasurer of the Orland Park, Ill.-based recycler, but says he has many roles in the company.

“As in any family owned business, I take on many roles,” Ipema said after learning that he had won free registration. “I look forward to expanding the services we offer and hope that this conference will produce the right contacts to move forward with our long-term plans.”

The 2010 Paper Recycling Conference & Trade Show will be especially beneficial for Ipema to attend as this year’s conference will feature a new Plant Operations track. •  “Pulling the Trigger on Plant Expansion” – A panel of recyclers offers insight into how they decided the time was right to invest in additional processing capacity. Confirmed panelists include City Carton Recycling President Andy Ockenfels.
• “Adjusting MRFs to Changing Streams” – Recycling plant designers discuss operations in an environment of less ONP and a wider variety of collected grades in the fiber mix. Confirmed speakers include Smurfit-Stone Recycling’s Dave Farrow and Metro Waste Paper Recovery’s Dan Lantz.
• “Safe and Sound” – Critical advice on operating a safe MRF or paperstock plant is offered by plant safety experts. ISRI’s Director of Safety John Gilstrap and Recycling Services’ Thomas Vujovic will be speaking at this session.
   

In addition, the Paper Recycling Conference will also offer attendees a Commodities & Trading track and a Collection & Municipal Markets track. Attendees to the event will have the option of attending sessions from all three programming tracks in addition to several plenary sessions.
