Dirigo Paper Co. announced that it is restarting the idled paper mill in Gilman, Vt.
“The mill has begun hiring in preparation for resuming full time production of commodity and specialty papers by late summer,” said Peter Hanson, president of the company. At capacity the mill will be able to produce more than 50,000 tons of paper per year.
The company also announced that it signed an exclusive fiber supply agreement with The Fibre Resources Group, Beverly Mass.
“This is a very exciting opportunity for our company, and we look forward to playing a vital roll in assisting Dirigo Paper fulfill its secondary and virgin fiber needs,” said Marc Cooper, president of The Fiber Resources Group.
