More than 650 industry professionals attended the 2006 Paper Recycling Conference & Trade Show and the inaugural Recycling Today’s Plastics Recycling Conference & Trade Show June 25-27 in Chicago.
The addition of the co-located plastics event brought the annual event’s attendance to record numbers, according to the shows’ organizers. The paper conference alone attracted nearly 500 attendees, while the plastics event drew another 150. There were more than 100 crossover attendees registered for both.
Participants of both events had the opportunity to attend a number of educational sessions addressing timely industry issues. Paper conference session topics ranged from macro-level market discussions of the effects of the global economy on today’s recovered fiber market to finding new chains of supply to transportation issues. Plastics session topics included increasing recovery rates for HDPE and PET, an update on sorting technology and a look at electronics recycling, among others.
Plastics and paper attendees also had the opportunity to visit the sold-out exhibit hall and see the latest in equipment and service offerings for both industries.
Next year’s conferences will be held June 10-12, 2007, in Orlando. More information is available at www.RecyclingTodayEvents.com.
