The Reusable Pallet & Container Coalition (RPCC), Washington, is expanding its message of reuse regardless of material, the group’s leadership team has announced.
“The material-neutral message is vital to our reuse position, to the fulfillment of our mission, and to the value of the RPCC to current and potential corporate members,” says newly-elected RPCC president Allan Wasserman. ”We are encouraging businesses to convert or integrate reusable pallets and containers into their packaging systems, regardless of the material. The focus is on ‘reuse’, not the material.”
On the coalition’s Web site, www.rpcc.us, it lists plastic and wooden pallets as well as bulk containers made of plastic, wood and metal as falling into the reusable category.
The Coalition says reusable pallets and containers help reduce the volume of the waste stream and improve the system-wide productivity of industries employing these products and services.
“The influence of the RPCC in the material handling industry has grown dramatically during the past few years,” says Wasserman. “A key goal moving forward is to use our past accomplishments as a springboard for significant outcomes this year, many of which will be realized through alliances with key partnerships in the public and private sectors.”
