Paladin Attachments, a Dexter, Michigan-based maker of couplers and attachments, has announced the integration of CWS Industries and Jewell Manufacturing into its North American business operations.
Jewell Manufacturing, based in Portland, Oregon, provides machines and attachments designed for harsh environments including the demolition, scrap recycling, construction, forestry and material handling industries.
Canada-based CWS is a maker of attachment products sold through a network of dealers to end users in the construction, mining, forestry and oil and gas markets. The company has been providing its equipment to customers for more than five decades. Prior to the integration, CWS had been a Paladin distributor in western Canada since being acquired in 2012 by Oak Brook, Illinois-based International Equipment Solutions (IES), Paladin’s parent company.
In a news release announcing the integration, Paladin says the addition of both brands supports its “continued product diversification objectives and improves its presence in the market as the largest manufacturer of coupler systems and attachment tools.”
Mike Flannery, vice president and general manager of Paladin, says, “The additions of CWS Industries and Jewell Manufacturing, coupled with the previously announced acquisition of Kodiak Mfg., as well as implementation of our organic growth strategies, will catapult Paladin to new heights in achieving unique levels of customer satisfaction. The combined excellence of our expanded operations that produce and market our 12 brands will provide even more value to our one-stop shop provision of the widest breadth of equipment attachment solutions.”
Paladin Attachments brands now include Bradco, CP, CustomWorks, CWS, FFC, Harley, Jewell, JRB, Kodiak, McMillen, Paladin do Brasil and Sweepster.
Its parent company, IES, describes itself as a global engineered equipment platform serving the construction, agriculture, landscaping, infrastructure, recycling, demolition, mining and energy markets. Its five operating units are Paladin, Genesis, Pengo, Crenlo and Siac do Brasil. IES employs more than 2,800 people and operates 17 manufacturing facilities in the United States, Canada, Germany and Brazil.
