Paladin Announces Acquisition

Construction attachment manufacturer acquires Magnum Systems Inc.

Paladin, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, has announced the completion of its acquisition of Magnum Systems Inc., effective Dec. 28, 2006.

Magnum, located in Tampa, Fla., is a leading manufacturer of mulching attachments for use in land clearing, right-of-way clearing and site development. Its attachments are designed for applications on a broad array of skid steer, excavator and wheel loader equipment. John Edwards, the company’s founder, has been appointed to serve as a consultant with Paladin following the acquisition.

“We are very pleased to announce the addition of Magnum’s market leading mulching attachments to Paladin’s current lineup of 12 leading attachments brands,” says Bill Van Sant, Paladin’s current president and CEO.

Marty Sullivan, vice president and general manager of the company’s Light Construction Equipment group will be responsible for overseeing the integration of Magnum products into the group’s design, manufacturing and distribution operations.

While still early in the transition phase, the company anticipates increasing the production of a new line of larger Magnum mulcher attachments in the near future. These will target applications on higher horsepower wheel loaders and excavators and may be distributed through the company’s other brand teams.
