Padnos Iron & Metal, based in Holland, Mich., held a ribbon-cutting ceremony Dec. 18, 2009, for the grand opening of its newest scrap recycling facility in Benton Harbor, Mich. The facility will handle a wide range of ferrous and nonferrous metals.
According to local press reports, Padnos is expected to receive a personal property exemption from Michigan’s NextEnergy Authority board because the company has installed solar energy panels at its facility in Wyoming, Mich. The $1.2 million project will provide 150 kilowatts of energy.
