Pacific Steel & Recycling, headquartered in Great Falls, Mont., has acquired Forest Steel Inc., Dalton Gardens, Idaho. The acquired facility will be renamed Pacific Steel.
Pacific Steel says it has retained all of the facility’s employees. Additionally, Grant Forest, the founder of Forest Steel, will remain with Pacific Steel in a consulting capacity.
Forest started Forest Steel in 1982. The company processes ferrous scrap and sells new steel.
Pacific has appointed Ben Halderman, the current branch manager for its Pasco, Wash., steel service center, to run the new facility, which will operate as a steel service center.
Pacific Steel & Recycling operates 43 branches throughout Washington, Idaho, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wyoming, Nevada, Utah and Colorado.
