The plant, located 45 miles south of Phoenix, will produce two-wheeled solid waste and recycling containers and custom molding for distribution primarily to customers in the western and central U.S.
In addition to making containers to collect recyclables, the injection-molding process used at the plant also has the capability of using resins and materials made from post-consumer scrap plastic.
With American headquarters in Charlotte, N.C., Otto Industries may be the largest maker of such containers in the world. The company has a sales or manufacturing presence in 35 countries and 2,000 employees around the world.
Otto Industries vice president Phillip Trussel credited Arizona and its economic development officials as reasons the company chose the Eloy location. “A high degree of professionalism combined with proximity to markets, good interstate and rail access, the availability of labor and a stable supply of services—especially electricity—made Arizona the most appealing site for this plant,” he remarked.Get curated news on YOUR industry.
