The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has proposed $163,900 in penalties for the San Antonio operation of Houston-based IFCO Systems North America Inc. for various violations.
IFCO, which employs 70 people, was cited for 10 violations, three repeat violations and six “other-than-serious” violations. The company performs pallet recycling and crating and packaging operations.
The serious violations alleged include failing to refit employees for hearing protection after annual tests showed they had experienced notable hearing loss. The San Antonio facility was cited for violations in 2010, with penalties totaling more than $22,000.
