Ernie Cooper and Terry Ratcliffe of Carrollton, Texas-based OnlineScrap.com LLC have announced they will retire from the industry and discontinue the company’s software product. According to a news release, OnlineScrap will cease development and support of its software toward the end of 2021.
In that same news release, Cooper and Ratcliffe recommend that their scrap yard clients adopt Waynesboro, Pennsylvania-based ScrapRight software in place of OnlineScrap, adding that early adoption will ensure “a smooth and easy transition while maintaining ticketing, compliance, reporting, inventorying, shipping and all other scrap software functionality.”
"We have built wonderful relationships over the years and have always strived to provide the best solutions for our clients," says Cooper, president of OnlineScrap.com. "Though we are retiring as a company, we care deeply about our customers' continued success and appreciate their trust in us as their software provider for the last three decades. We've diligently searched the recycling software market, carefully done our research on all of the software providers out there and have landed confidently on ScrapRight.com as the company we trust and recommend to continue serving our clients."
"We feel [ScrapRight] will be able to transition our customers over quickly and easily to their platform, and the learning curve will be very low," says Ratcliffe, director of hardware at OnlineScrap.com. "ScrapRight’s team understands the needs of the industry and have developed a strong product that will work for the largest scrap yard down to the smaller family-run yard."
OnlineScrap is offering to help its customers make the transition and is recommending that they reach out to get a demo from ScrapRight to determine which options are best for their businesses.
