OneSource Freight, a transportation logistics firm headquartered in Tempe, Arizona, has joined the R2 Recycling Leaders program, which recognizes leadership efforts among companies and nonprofit organizations in electronics recycling.
Boulder, Colorado-based SERI, a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing the safe and sustainable reuse and recycling of obsolete electronics, manages the R2 Recycling Leaders program.
SERI notes that OneSource has been a consistent supporter of the R2 (Responsible Recycling Practices) Standard since its development in 2008, providing guidance in the drafting of Provision 12 of the R2:2013 Standard, which covers the transport of recyclable electronics. On Source Freight also has designed its reverse logistics and supply chain management solutions to prioritize adherence to the R2 Standard, SERI says.
John Martin, president of OneSource, says the company works very closely with carriers to ensure that the criteria required by R2 certified recyclers, especially the security of the electronics being transported, are met.
R2 Recycling Leader partners include DIRECTV, Goodwill Industries International, Greeneye Partners, Keep America Beautiful, Microsoft, Oracle, Panasonic, Recycle Across America, Reverse Logistics Sustainability Council, Sony America, SourceAmerica, Wistron Corp. and Xerox.
