Earlier this week the Bourbon, Ind., Town Council passed tax abatements for OmniSource, a Fort Wayne scrap metal company, to make renovations and purchase new equipment at a plant, formerly occupied by Lear Corp., according to council President Bill Keyser.
The abatements were passed after a public hearing at which no one spoke, Keyser said. No one objected, Keyser said, and the move passed "fairly quickly."
Keyser said though OmniSource has already started work on the old Lear plant, he said the building needed a considerable amount of renovation, and thinks the site won't be ready until around the end of the year. South Bend (Indiana) Tribune
