The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency is holding up the license renewal for Warren Recycling, a Warren, Ohio C&D recycling operation. The renewal license was for a landfill and transfer station.
According to a representative from the OHIO EPA, the city of Warren’s Health Department has yet to award the company a license. The government agency, along with the state of Ohio’s Attorneys General office is investigating the company for a number of environmental violations.
According to local press reports, Warren Recycling stated that there were no grounds for denying the license. The company applied for its license renewal the end of last month. The health board has 90 days to either accept or reject the application.
The Attorney’s General office had sent a letter to Warren Recycling this summer noting that the company had neglected to properly operate and maintain the facility.
A spokeswoman for the AG office noted that the company has responded to the initial letter and are awaiting response to the letter.Latest from Recycling Today
