The New York Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) is making funds available for new grants to assist local governments in paying for recycling education, coordination, promotion and planning (
DEC will accept applications only during the months of August, September and October 2018 for projects to be completed during in 2019. During the application period, applicants can initiate a proposal in the New York State Grants Gateway, by going to the Grant Opportunity Portal.
The New York DEC administers funding from the state’s Environmental Protection Fund to support municipal waste reduction and recycling (MWRR) efforts in New York state.
Applications received by DEC during the three-month application period will be reviewed, scored and, if acceptable, will be approved for grants during the final two months of 2018.
