Titanium Processors, LLC will be established for the recycling of titanium alloys through sorting and cleaning scrap materials generated in the manufacturing cycle. This material will then be reused for melting in the titanium alloy market. Processing and recycling these materials allow them to be used at their highest value.
The company will conduct all its operations within the 63,000 square-foot building. Mark Feane, executive director for the Herkimer County IDA, said that the company is expected to start moving in equipment immediately. The company will purchase equipment to crush, clean, transport, box, and sample and analyze turnings. The capital required for this equipment is projected at over $1.0 M.
Key considerations in choosing the location included the cost of plant and property, cost of utilities, adequate personnel to meet demand, and costs associated with meeting environmental regulations. The present plan is to lease the building and land.
