New Delhi-based Nupur Recycling Ltd. (NRL) has acquired Tycod Autotech Pvt. Ltd. of Haryana, India, in a move it says is a strategic step in its forward integration journey.

NRL purchased the aluminum alloys and components producer in an all-cash transaction for 240 million rupees ($2.7 million)

According to nonferrous metals recycler and producer NRL, the acquisition deepens its strategy to move up the value chain from scrap processing to the production of aluminum alloys and precision-engineered automotive components.

With the acquisition complete, NRL says it is investing to modernize Tycod’s production infrastructure, including the installation of high-pressure die casting, vertical machining and computer numerical control machinery. The upgrades are designed to increase capacity and attract further OEM partnerships in the near future.

“This acquisition is a strategic forward integration that allows us to capture greater value from our recycling operations,” NRL Managing Director Rajesh Gupta says. “Tycod gives us the capability to not only expand our aluminum alloy ingot sales [and] venture into precision manufacturing for the automotive sector."

Tycod Autotech operates a 90,000-square-foot facility on a 5-acre land parcel located within a 200-acre industrial park. The facility currently manufactures engine components for Tata commercial vehicles and supplies them to other OEMs including Tata Motors, Sundaram Fasteners and Interpump Group.

Tycod has a current workforce of about 175 people and NRL has plans for further expansion.

“We’re already dispatching over 100 metric tons of aluminum alloy ingots monthly to Tycod and are ensuring consistent quality and on-time delivery for our key OEM clients,” Gupta says. “Looking ahead, we’re targeting 300 metric tons per month to support in-house manufacturing of auto components by the 2026-2027 fiscal year.”

In addition to its Tycod operations, NRL trades and processes nonferrous scrap, including the shredded grades zorba and zurik, shredded zinc and zinc die cast scrap. The company trades scrap from India, Europe, the United States and the United Arab Emirates.

“Joining hands with NRL has accelerated our growth trajectory," says Daksh Maheshwari from Tycod Autotech. "With a reliable raw material supply and new investments in advanced machinery, we are now poised to become a leading Tier-1 supplier to OEMs."
