As division manager, Smith has full responsibility for the business unit, including finance, sales, marketing, operations and service quality. He reports to Dave Whitley, former ReNu Division Manager, and senior manager of the newly formed Washington Services business unit at Nuprecon. Smith has worked for eight years as a manager at a divisional level within Nuprecon.
Through ReNu, Nuprecon has diverted a significant portion of debris generated on construction and demolition sites in Puget Sound away from the landfill and into recycling. The City of Seattle alone handled 200,000 tons of C&D in 2000. ReNu is a member of the USGBC (United States Green Building Council) and actively participates in the LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) program for sustainable “Green” Building practices.
Engineering News Record ranks Nuprecon 11th among the largest demolition contractors in the country with over $22 million in 2000 sales. 2001 sales were projected at $30 million. Nuprecon also has a saw-cutting division, Nutech; an abatement division, Environmental Waste Resources (EWR); and ReNu. Nuprecon is licensed in the western U.S. states and pursues demolition work nation wide.
