Nucor Corp. has completed the acquisition of two previously announced deals: Meal Galamba Group and Metal Recycling Services. In completing both deals Nucor noted that both were acquired at attractive multiples. Both will operate under Nucor’s David J. Joseph subsidiary
Metal Recycling Services Inc., based in Monroe, NC, was founded in 1999. The facility operates a full service processing facility, including an automobile shredder. Additionally, MRS operates two feeder yards. The company expects to process around 220,000 tons of scrap metal a year. It will operate under the name Metal Recycling Services, LLC.
Galamba Metals, based in Kansas City, Mo., has been in business since 1977. The company operates 16 full service scrap processing yards, located in Kansas, Missouri and Arkansas. The company processes more than 500,000 tons of scrap metal a year.
DJJ will operate this group under the Advantage Metals Recycling, LLC name.
