The Northeast Resource Recovery Association, Epsom, New Hampshire, New Hampshire the Beautiful and NRRA School CLUB have announced the presentation of 10 awards to teachers, students and groups who have started, expanded and/or sustained their school recycling programs. The awards were presented at the Seventh Annual School Recycling Conference May 17, 2016, in Nashua, New Hampshire.
“We are committed to supporting and recognizing the recycling efforts of schools,” says NRRA Executive Director Michael Durfor. “We know students are tomorrow’s recyclers, leaders and consumers.”
The school award recipients are:
- Charen Fegard for Outstanding Recycling Educator;
- Allenstown Elementary, Allenstown, New Hampshire, for Best Earth Day Event;
- Kimberlie Berrigan, Allenstown, New Hampshire, for Teacher Recycler of the Year;
- Erica Miller, White Birch Community Center’s Early Learning Program, Henniker, New Hampshire, for Rookie Recycler of the Year;
- Marin Lackmann, Moore School, Candia, New Hamphsire, for Outstanding Student Recycler of the Year;
- Marc Brown, Burke Town School, West Burke, Vermont, for Facilities Staff Recycler of the Year;
- Milford Middle School Recycling Club, Milford, New Hampshire, for Recycling Club of the Year;
- Joseph Gallagher, Milford Middle School, Milford, New Hampshire, for Recycling Club Assistant of the year;
- Milford Middle School, Milford, New Hampshire, for Best Recycling School of the Year; and
- Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Belle Chasse, Louisiana, for the Special Recognition Award.
