The National Recycling Coalition (NRC), Washington, and the Illinois Recycling Association are co-organizing an e-waste workshop in Chicago December 11.
“Advancing Electronics Recycling in the Midwest: An Interactive and Educational Workshop” will cover topics such as:
- Innovative and cost-effective strategies for collection, reusing and recycling electronics;
- Regional, national and international developments in electronics recycling;
- Key environmental, technical and economic issues driving electronics recycling policies and practices;
- End-market applications for de-manufactured electronic components; and
- An explanation of the processing and end-market stages of the recycling system.
The workshop is designed to be interactive, with attendees encouraged to ask questions, voice concerns and establish working relationships within the region’s electronics recycling, processing and manufacturing industries.
The workshop is sponsored by U.S. EPA Region 5, the Illinois Department of Commerce and Community Affairs and United Recycling Industries.
