Stockholm-based packaging technology company Meadow has announced a partnership with Atlanta-based sustainable aluminum solutions provider Novelis.

Under the recently signed agreement, Novelis will become part of the packaging technology provider’s network of supply chain partners for aluminum, joining Ball Corp., DRT Holdings and C-CARE. Meadow says the agreement supports the mutual goal of increasing recycled material used in the production of its aluminum prefill solution, the Meadow Kapsul.

“We are proud to work with Meadow to deliver a sustainable packaging option for consumer household products across the globe,” says Greg Schlicht, senior vice president and chief commercial officer at Novelis. “Meadow’s focus on reducing waste and improving circularity aligns perfectly with our vision to advance aluminum as the material of choice with circular solutions. Together, we are developing innovative products to create a more circular and sustainable future.”

Novelis operates in nine countries throughout North America, South America, Europe and Asia with 31 manufacturing facilities. The company recycles approximately 2.3 million metric tons of aluminum scrap annually.

Meadow says it has committed to further collaboration with Novelis on multiple innovation and commercial initiatives as part of the partnership.

“Working with Novelis marks another exciting milestone for Meadow; as a world leader in aluminum recycling and rolling, Novelis brings not only deep industrial expertise, but the scale and reliability needed to support our continued commercial growth,” Meadow CEO and Co-founder Victor Ljungberg says. “Crucially, it strengthens the sustainability of our value chain, creating one of the most circular packaging solutions available today and brings us closer to our end-goal of eliminating linear packaging.”
