Novelis Inc. has appointed Antonio Tadeu Coelho Nardocci President, Novelis Europe, effectively immediately. He succeeds Arnaud de Weert who has left the company.
Nardocci had been Senior VP - Innovation, Technology and Strategy for Novelis since 2008. Previously, he was Senior VP and President of Novelis South America, the company's operating segment in Brazil, since 2005.
Prior to Novelis, he held a number of manufacturing and senior leadership positions with Alcan Inc. from 1980 to 2004, including managing director of the company's Southeast Asian business and president of Alcan Brazil Rolled Products.
In his new role, Nardocci will lead Novelis' extensive manufacturing and sales activities in Europe, which includes a network of 13 operating locations. Novelis is the leading producer of aluminum sheet and foil in Europe and is the region's largest recycler of aluminum beverage cans. The company also operates three European technology centers involved in product development.
