Northstar Recycling Co., a sustainability-oriented managed waste and recycling solutions company based in East Longmeadow, Massachusetts, has announced the acquisition of Complete Recycling, a San Diego-based provider of recycling services.
According to a news release issued by Ridgemont Equity Partners, a Charlotte, North Carolina-based buyout and growth equity investor that invested in Northstar Recycling in the fall of 2021, the companies serve multifacility manufacturers and distributors across the food, consumer packaged goods and industrial sectors with a centralized solution to manage and divert industrial waste streams into beneficial reuse applications.
“We are pleased to announce the addition of Complete Recycling to Northstar,” says Seth and Noah Goodman, founders of Northstar Recycling. “This is a very logical combination and complementary partnership given the fundamental overlap in our service offerings and end markets. We are looking forward to working with the Complete Recycling team to further advance our mutual goal of helping businesses recycle more and landfill less.”
The two say the acquisition allows their company to offer expanded services to existing clients and enhances the ability of the combined business to serve additional customers and vendors through a more scaled platform.
“Complete Recycling and Northstar Recycling are very similar businesses; we share the same value proposition for our customers and commitment to helping our clients achieve their landfill diversion and related sustainability initiatives,” says Kevin Flynn, CEO of Complete Recycling. “I am excited to continue in my role and further support the combined Northstar.”
Northstar and Ridgemont say they are seeking acquisition candidates that are established leaders providing sustainability-oriented managed waste and recycling services.
