Northshore Manufacturing is introducing its new auto dismantling system, which consists of an auto dismantling grapple and excavator hold-down arms. This system is designed to mount onto existing excavators in the 20-25 Metric Ton Class, using its hydraulic system, as well as added hydraulic and electronic components. The new system can be factory installed or field installed at a dealer or customer’s location.
The hold down arms are designed to partially crush and hold the rear of the vehicle on the ground, while the grapple tears out the most valuable components of a vehicle, including the wiring harnesses, radiators, heater cores, engines and transmissions.
In its press announcement, Northshore notes that a skilled operator can process between 10-12 vehicles an hour with the new auto dismantling system.
Key features of the grapple include:
• 360° continuous rotation on a heavy duty bearing with advanced, high torque motor and a high pressure hydraulic swivel.
• High tensile steel used throughout.
• Arm tips made from hardened, abrasion resistant material. Hard facing factory installed on grapple arms.
• Oversized, hardened cylinder and arm pivot pins with replaceable bushings.
• High pressure cylinders.
• Easily accessible, yet well protected grease zerks.
