North Star Steel’s Monroe, Mich., facility has received ISO 14001 certification. It is the first North Star facility to achieve ISO 14001 certification.
ISO 14001 certification is an international standard established to distinguish companies that document and manage their operations to minimize the impact on the environment, and it forms the blueprint for North Star’s Michigan Environmental Management System initiatives.
The facility, in operations since 1980, manufactures carbon and alloy steel billets and specialty bars used in the automotive, truck and farm equipment industries.
