Norampac Inc., through its wholly-owned subsidiary Norampac Holding U.S. Inc., completed the acquisition of the corrugated products converting plant of Star Container Corporation.
With annual production of over 1 billion square feet and 250 employees, the plant has a well-established customer base, state-of-the-art equipment, experienced personnel and provides a wide range of products and services. The company, located in Leominster, Mass., will operate under the name of Star Leominster Inc.
Existing Star customers will continue to receive the benefit of excellent manufacturing, quality and service capabilities. Star will be enhanced and complemented by the synergy of Norampac's other converting plants, primary mills, and technical resources.
With this second important acquisition in the last two months, Norampac is pursuing its focus strategy of increasing converting capacity and reinforces its presence in the corrugated products market of the Northeast.
The move continues Norampac's move toward adding more converting operations, a strategy the company has earmarked as a path for its success.
In addition to owning several converting operations in the United States, Norampac opened a box plant in Mexico last year. The company also owns a facility in France.
