NITON LLC of Billerica, Mass., a manufacturer of portable x-ray fluorescence(XRF) instrumentation for alloy analysis, has announced a distribution agreement with RMG Technologies of Liphook, England, enabling NITON to distribute RMG’s MiniSort ARC OES (Optical Emission Spectrometer) alloy analyzer in the United States.
Weighing only five pounds, the MiniSort’s convenient pistol shape provides excellent ergonomics for high-volume use in rapid identification and sorting of aluminum, titanium and red metal alloys, according to a press release issued by NITON. The unit is specifically designed to withstand the rigorous and harsh environment of the metals recycling industry.
According to NITON, the MiniSort offers the power and performance of larger air-burn OES spectrometers currently used throughout the metals recycling industry in a small, fully-contained package that can be easily transported.
Niton says that the MiniSort never needs recalibration or standardization and is easy to operate.
Each unit is factory programmed to include all of the most common aluminum, titanium and red metal alloy grades. The internal grade library can be customized to suit client’s specific operations and additional alloy grades.
NITON says that, with the addition of the MiniSort, it now offers a dedicated solution for every alloy sorting need.
