Atlanta-based Nexus Circular’s Chief Commercial Officer Clint Thompson has been appointed to the Plastics Industry Association (PLASTICS) executive board of directors. He brings leadership experience and industry expertise that will support the Washington-based association’s mission to advance a more sustainable and innovative plastics industry.
Nexus Circular develops and scales advanced recycling solutions that convert hard‑to‑recycle plastics into circular feedstocks used to make new products.

With more than 35 years of experience in the environmental and sustainability industries, Thompson is committed to protecting the environment and growing the plastic industry, having managed development projects in recycling, waste management, biofuels and cleantech sectors, the company says. As chief commercial officer at Nexus Circular, he oversees feedstock sourcing and contracting, new market and site selection and revenue generation, including the management of all contracts with petrochemical partners.

"The plastics industry is at a pivotal moment, and I look forward to working with fellow board members to advance policies that strengthen the plastics industry and lead solutions on sustainability, circularity and economic growth."
Thompson has a degree in environmental studies from the University of Alabama. He has been the chief commerical officer of the chemical recycling company Nexus Circular since February 2022.
From 1999 to 2022, Thompson managed his own advisory and investment practice and retains board commitments and ownership in multiple companies developed by his firm. Nexus Circular has been one of his projects since 2009. His primary advisory and investment practice areas included oil and gas/petrochemical industries, renewable energy and biofuels industries and water, tire and waste plastic recycling industries.From 1990 to1999, Thompson worked for the Antea Group, an international sustainability consultancy.
