Newell-Riverside, the San Antonio-based auto shredder subsidiary of Riverside Products, Moline, Ill., will be installing a shredding plant in Pori, Finland.
The company has sold an 80/104 auto shredding plant to Stena Metals, based in Halmstad, Sweden. The Swedish company will operate the new shredder at a deep-water port location in Finland.
“We are very pleased to have sold our first international shredder to our good friends at Stena Metals,” says Patrick Comparin, president of Newell-Riverside. “We have had a long and collaborative relationship with the metals recycling team at Stena, and we are delighted that Newell-Riverside could further cement that relationship with another new shredder installation.”
The installation marks the third one since Riverside purchased some of the assets of the former Newell Industries Inc. to form Newell-Riverside in 2000.
According to a Newell-Riverside news release, Stena Metals currently operates four Newell Industries shredders at other locations in Europe.
The new Newell-Riverside plant will feature a 36/36 super double feed roll, a disc-style Battle rotor, an anti-vibration spring system, and a newly engineered rotor lifting device.Latest from Recycling Today
