New York to Haul Construction Debris on Barges

Sims Group will handle the operation.

New York has announced plans to reduce truck traffic by hauling construction and demolition material out of Manhattan on Hudson River barges, according to a report in the New York Daily News.

Trucks will dump the debris at a W. 59th St. barge dock instead of heading to other sites to transfer it to the 18-wheel trucks that currently drive the material out of state.

Sims Group has been chosen to run the operation.
