Matthew R. Walsh of Aeon Blue Software and Development says his Michigan-based company has installed its new recycling management system software at A&D Scrap Material Inc. in Fort Myers, Fla. According to Walsh, the software “allows recycling companies to manage their entire business and operations within a single application.” Walsh says the system “offers a seamless, easy to use and intuitive interface for recycling professionals.” Aeon Blue has written its new program under the .NET framework, according to Walsh, “offering next-generation compatibility on Microsoft Windows operating systems, and fully supporting Windows 7, as well as backwards compatibility to older versions of Microsoft Windows.” Users of RMSWIN (the company’s old DOS-based program) will not need to learn new software as the new program contains “an RMSWIN emulator that allows them to use the same menus while accessing the new application functions,” according to Walsh. The system has a full scale purchase order and scale system, and scale purchase checks can be written and issued with one click, says Walsh. The program allows addresses payroll and benefits functions as well as a variety of customer contact and service functions. “The system features a one-touch instant backup system also, that creates SQL import/export scripts that can be restored at the server or application level, easily,” says Walsh. “The program is based around a MySQL database, but can be based on any existing database server system [and it] allows recycling professionals to centralize the location of the application server, so if they have multiple locations or they are out of town, they may tie all locations together and share data safely.” Walsh says the product will be priced competitively against other recycling management software packages while it also “will offer stability and reliability to [recycling] operations.”
