New Seda Module One Drainage System Increases Efficiency

Module One Drainage System is designed for the fast and efficient removal of gasoline, antifreeze, windshield washer and waste oils from end-of-life vehicles.

Seda Environmental, St. Petersburg, Fla., has introduced the Module One Drainage System, its smallest fully-integrated fluid evacuation system.

The Module One is designed for the fast, efficient and safe removal of gasoline, antifreeze, windshield washer and waste oils, including transmission, engine, differentials and powersteering from end-of-life vehicles, the company says.

“This space saving and efficient solution incorporates proven Seda performance and reliability and provides operators with the same hallmark of easy handling and fast drainage times of Seda Environmental’s larger systems,” says Michael Hoeher, director of business development, North America, Seda Environmental.

Like all Seda systems, the Module One system uses a combination of suction and air pressure to remove up to 98 percent of all liquid contaminants in end-of-life vehicles, according to the press release. The system can be used either indoors or outdoors, in a single bay or shared twin bay setup.

The Module One is suitable for full-service auto dismantlers and recyclers using anywhere from one to ten dismantling bays/lifts. It has the capacity of processing up to 40 cars a day in a designated, double-bay drainage setup at a full-service dismantling facility. With an estimated 6 to 8 minutes of drainage time, the Module One system can maximize operator productivity and improve throughput.

Standard on the Module One system are UL approved Double Diaphragm Pumps to remove gas/diesel, engine oil, transmission and brake fluids, engine coolant and windshield washer fluid. The system also includes a coolant suction lance and lance holder, gas-tank defueler with secondary suction hose, fuel line adaptor set and gas filter and two-way fuel control for gas and diesel.

Also standard is a heavy-duty overhead pump cabinet and a swing arm with dual oil funnels for simultaneous drainage of transmission and engine oil. An automatic hose wheel removes windshield washer fluid, while brake fluid is vacuum drained. The Module One is completely air-powered with a control unit that activates each individual pump.
