The former Philadelphia Tramrail Co. has changed its name to PTR Baler & Compactor Co. The manufacturing company has been in business since 1907.
The company’s president-elect Mike Savage says that a new name will better convey PTR’s international scope. “It’s time for us to be thought of globally and not regionally,” he remarks. “With customers in the U.K., Germany, Japan, Australia, Canada, Mexico and South America, we decided it was the right time.”
In addition to the name change, PTR has named Gregory Leon as director of marketing and sales. “We will continue to grow our core business of national and retail accounts while focusing on a sales distribution network both here and abroad,” says Leon. “We are revising current literature and developing new literature and have set an aggressive schedule for a upgraded, more interactive Web site for January.”
Gregory Leon has more than 20 years of experience in the compression products industry, including building to selling baling and compacting products. He has formerly worked as for Marathon and NexGen as well as holding a previous position with Philadelphia Tramrail.
