The Red Bank, N.J., Borough Council has passed a resolution opposing a plan to expand Red Bank Recycling, according to a report in the Hub (Red Bank, N.J.).
The company submitted an application to the Monmouth County (N.J.) Solid Waste Advisory Council (SWAC) last month, seeking permission to build a transfer station for moving construction and demolition debris.
The material would be brought to the site by trucks transporting it from different area construction sites, according to the report.
The final decision on the proposal is up to the Monmouth County SWAC, but the borough council has made its opposition to the plan official with the approval of its resolution. According to the report, the council had also prepared a resolution that would deny a request for a zoning change made by Red Bank Recycling earlier this year, however, this resolution did not pass.
The borough attorney and engineer will prepare a new resolution addressing the same issue for the May 22 council meeting, according to the report.
