Polymer Reprocessing Technology Center LLC, a recently created company, is looking to open a PET plastics recycling facility in Ottawa, Ohio. The plan is to open the facility adjacent to a company, Moving Expressions Inc., which will take in the ground up PET plastics. Moving Expressions is a plastics extruder.
Andy Inniger, who is listed as the operations director for the new business, also is involved with Moving Expressions, which makes plastics bottles.
Inniger, who hopes to begin installing equipment and operating the facility this year, is shooting to handle around 20 million pounds of recycled PET plastic at the plant, primarily post-consumer.
To help in purchasing the equipment the company has applied for a $250,000 grant from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Recycling and Litter Prevention.
Inniger says that whether or not the company receives the grant money they expect to go forward with the project.
According to local press reports at the present time Moving Expressions purchases plastics from a plastics recycling operation in Ohio. However, by opening its own operation the company expects to save a significant amount of money.
