The goal of the new regulation is to boost the use of more recyclable and environmentally friendly vehicles in the Chinese auto industry.
According to the rule, Chinese automakers are asked to stop using materials that emit poisonous gas and pose harm to the environment while materials which are difficult to recycle and are not environmental friendly including mercury and lead, will be banned from being used in manufacturing. The recoverability rate of each car produced in China or imported should reach at least 80 percent while no less than 75 percent of materials should be reused.
From 2017, the recycling standard will eventually rise to 95 percent and 85 percent separately.
