A tire recycling plant intends to locate in the Wells heavy industrial park.
Patrick Barney, owner of World Renew, said he intends to build a 40,000-square-foot plant and a railroad spur at the site.
“I look forward to creating 60 to 120 new employment opportunities,” Barney said.
He hopes to break ground around Dec. 1.
The proposed plant will move 6,000 tires an hour through the processing facility. Barney said he has markets for the byproducts that will be produced in the breakdown process, including carbon black, steel and oil. Reno Gazette JournalLatest from Recycling Today
