The Wells, Nevada, City Council has approved a land-sale contract with Humboldt Environmental & Renewable Technologies Inc., which plans to build a tire recycling plant in the city's heavy industrial park.
The contract stipulates that HEART will pay $261,660 for the site, payable in annual installments through Sept. 1, 2010, with the first payment of $25,000 due this Sept. 1.
HEART is a corporation of community shareholders planning to build the tire plant. The shareholders took the reins to do their own economic development when it became clear World Renew wouldn't get the funding for its proposed plant. Nevada Daily Free Press
