Networkfleet Inc., based in San Diego, has announced the soon-to-be-available Networkfleet 4200, a low-cost GPS vehicle tracking system.
The new system is designed for fleets that need location tracking but that do not require the patented remote engine diagnostics offered by the Networkfleet 3500 wireless fleet management system. Both products, however, use the same Web-based application to provide access to vehicle information.
Designed by Networkfleet’s experienced telematics engineering group and built in the U.S., the 4200 is tamper evident and hermetically sealed, allowing it to withstand harsh environments. According to Networkfleet, the 4200 works on all vehicles and is built to pass SAE J1455 certification, an industry standard for electronic equipment design in heavy-duty vehicles.
“At Networkfleet, we want to provide our customers with options that will meet their needs,” says Keith Schneider, president of Networkfleet. “We designed the 4200 for those who want a lower cost GPS solution, but prefer to purchase it from a leading provider that backs up their products with service, support, and stability for the long term.”
The Networkfleet 4200 will be available for purchase following the completion of external network certification processes, which are estimated to be finalized in the middle of the third quarter of 2009. More information is available from www.networkfleet.com.
