Networkcar, a leader in wireless fleet management and a wholly owned subsidiary of Hughes Telematics, has announced that it is changing its name to Networkfleet to reflect the company’s sole focus on helping commercial and government fleets to increase operating efficiency and reduce costs.
The company also has expanded its headquarters, moving to a larger, newly renovated building in San Diego. This new building nearly doubles the company’s office space to accommodate current and future growth.
“Newly named Networkfleet is growing rapidly, and our new office, new name and brand identity reflect that,” says Keith Schneider, president of Networkfleet. “By taking the name of our successful product, the company is aligning its strategy, mission and messages."
Networkfleet claims it was the first company to develop a wireless diagnostic monitoring system that connects directly to a vehicle’s on-board diagnostic OBD-II port. Approaching its 10-year anniversary, the company and its affiliates now have more than 50 patents issued or pending surrounding vehicle diagnostics. In 2006, Hughes Telematics, a leader in the development of the next generation of vehicle information-based technology and services, acquired the company.
Networkfleet customers represent a broad range of industries and fleet sizes, from less than 10 vehicles to thousands of vehicles. Customers include service fleets, delivery, transportation services, construction and all levels of government.
